Clever Bamboo flooring is a versatile, strong and eco-friendly product.
Clever bamboo is stronger than most hardwoods, and it does not take 100's of years to grow, as do hardwoods of similar density. A Bamboo tree will grow to its peak and be ready to harvest approximately every 4 years. Each tree in the managed bamboo forest is identified and selected for the season and year for harvest. Unlike wood plantations the bamboo trees are not all harvested at the same time, so the bamboo forests are not clear felled. This process ensures that the bamboo forest is always present, to help reduce greenhouse gases. Furthermore the whole bamboo tree is used effectively for manufactured products, from flooring to tooth picks, eliminating any waste. It looks and feels like hardwood, but of course it is so much more environmentally friendly.
We carry three colours of this product in stock, Natural, Tiger and Coffee. Our product is carbonised, which means the product is baked and the colour is contained through the entire board, not applied as a stain as is the case in some inferior products.
Come and see it installed in our showroom. Hardness:: Bamboo floor is harder than any oak, with our compressed Indoor Bamboo ranking a 14+ on the Janka rating. Janka wood hardness scale. (The Janka rating is a measure of the amount of force it takes to push a .444" diameter steel ball half way into a piece of wood, or in this case the bamboo)Finish: The finish is important because this is what your customers see, but a nice finish does not make what is underneath good quality. Clever Bamboo Australia specify the highest quality Treffert Aluminum Oxide coating from Germany. We apply seven UV cured coats to each bamboo board to ensure its 25 year wear warranty* and scratch resistance. Moisture Content: This is critical to the quality of the bamboo. Clever Bamboo Australia control the moisture content of the bamboo, not only air drying but also using our conditioning rooms, to specifically match the moisture content to needs of our climate, to prevent cupping or cracking of the board.
